Happy Apart
Here we have a rather chipper looking turtle, though why he's in such fine spirits after I chopped off his body in an impatient rage I will never Know?

The Rebel

I've been thinking for a while now that I really need to start painting and drawing more and as someone was kind enough to buy a print from me recently (thanks Andrew) I decided to invest the money in a rather nifty set of paint brushes, which arrived today. I'm more of a Hancock than a Van Gogh but I'm gonna stick at it and hope that my patience does'nt get the better of me...watch this space.

Cinemascope

I've just shipped off a batch of prints to be exhibited as part of Cinemascope at the boxbird gallery in Brighton. The theme of the exhibition is film and the brief was to produce two pieces that in some way illustrate a particular film, either by re-creating a favourite scene or by putting ones own particular slant on the films poster. I chose to make a poster for whats possibly one of my favourite films, The Graduate and my second choice was the scene from Jaws where Roy Scheider spots the shark and utters those immortal words "we're gonna need a bigger boat"...ok, ok so he does'nt actually say those words but it fits the picture better and...well...it's artistic license. The more observant person will also spot that in The Graduate, Dustin Hoffman is wearing a full diving outfit including air tank, but I don't care...I have a license for this sort of thing.
The exhibition will be open for the 2009 Brighton Fringe Festival from Friday 8th May - 31st May.
